Job Description
SISD’s (Sensors and Intelligent Systems Directorate) research and development work emphasizes sensors, networks of sensors, and autonomous systems; further, it encompasses underlying enabling technologies as applied to a wide variety of specific sponsor challenges involving systems engineering, artificial intelligence, machine learning, radar, antennas, electromagnetics, electronic warfare, acoustics, physical phenomenology, command and control, network communications, software and hardware development, and signal and data processing. The products of SISD’s research span the continuum from physics-based models and complex simulations to component technologies, to representative prototypes and specialized fielded systems.
The Colorado Field Office is looking for a student assistant for Spring 2025. The student will assist with Administrative and IT Operations support to the staff in the Colorado Springs Field Office. The student working for us will assist with sorting IT inventory, VTC setup, filing system maintenance, scheduling, office paperwork and Jira updates.
Required Minimum Qualifications
Student Assistant
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or other STEM field
- Must be registered for at least 6 credit hours with your university
- 2.5 or higher cumulative GPA
- Commit to 10-20 hours of work per week
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong interests in learning Information Technology Operations
- Basic level knowledge of computer hardware and various operating systems
- Desire to grow as a future IT professional or to apply IT knowledge to other STEM fields
- Ability to collaborate, communicate effectively, and work as a team with others
- Task/team leadership experience
- Familiarity with open source tools (e.g. Microsoft Office)
- Configuration management tools
- Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas

Due to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens.
Clearance Type Required
Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain an active security clearance.
